About the race
Green Park Lutheran School hosts the Green Park Viking Dash, a community running event in Saint Louis, MO on April 17, 2027. The event includes two distances:
- 5K run/walk following a course that goes through the surrounding neighborhood and Grant's Trail.
- 1 Mile fun run/walk intended for kids, families, and walkers at their own pace.
Both races start and finish at Green Park Lutheran School. All participants receive a medal upon completion. Individual awards are given to the top male and female overall finishers and 1st place in each age group: 10 & under, 11-19, 20-35, 36-45, 46-59, 60+.
Family activities are planned during the event, including face painting, balloon twisting, a coloring station, and food and drink vendors such as Coffee Toms and Kona Ice available for purchase. Packet distribution is organized so Green Park families receive packets via the oldest child on April 16; non-Green Park families may pick up packets at Green Park Lutheran School on April 16 and April 17.
Registration opens September 30, 2026 and closes January 31, 2027. Registration fees listed are $30.00 for the 5K and $20.00 for the 1 Mile. Proceeds benefit Green Park Lutheran School's Viking Village. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
