Greek Peak Running Festival

The Greek Peak Running Festival is a mountain trail running event held at the Greek Peak Resort in Cortland, New York. The festival offers a variety of distances and race formats that take place on woodland paths and steep mountain slopes, providing views of the surrounding peaks.

Participants can choose from a wide range of distances:

  • 25K mountain trail race with significant elevation changes
  • 10K consisting of two loops on the 5K course
  • 5K mountain-ish course
  • Uphill 1K featuring 1,000 feet of gain on a steep slope
  • Doggo 5K canicross-style race for runners with leashed dogs
  • Night 10K and Night 5K requiring headlamps for navigation
  • Kids Mile for children 12 and under

The event includes specialized categories such as the Doggo 5K, where dogs must be kept on a leash and under control. The Uphill 1K takes place on the Iliad slope, the steepest section of the resort. For those interested in evening activities, the night races follow the same routes as the daytime 5K and 10K options but in the dark.

The venue features several on-site amenities for participants and families, including a mountain coaster, an indoor waterpark, and the Trax Pub & Grill. Lodging is available nearby at Hope Lake Lodge. This inaugural event is part of a larger weekend of running at the resort, coinciding with the Virgil Crest Ultras.
