Burgaw Autumn Festival Graveyard 5K and Boo-gaw Trick or Treat Mile
The event is part of the Burgaw Autumn Festival and takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Burgaw Town Square (100 S Wright Street, Burgaw, NC 28425). The main race is a timed 5K that follows a course through Burgaw, including the Osgood Canal Greenway and Urban Trail, and a 1/3 mile stretch through the Burgaw Cemetery with graves dating to the 1860s. Participants may run or walk the 5K.
The Boo-gaw Trick or Treat Mile is a timed one mile run around the town square. The mile finishes with trick or treating through the festival, where vendors will offer special treats for participants. The mile event is open to participants of all ages and may be run or walked.

The event lists community partnership with the Parks Foundation of Burgaw Splash Pad Project and fundraising to support a splash pad at Bishop Rayford Hankins Memorial Park. Parking is available at the Burgaw Town Hall lot at N Walker Street and E Wilmington Street, in front of the Historic Burgaw Train Depot, and at legal parking spaces along Freemont Street.
