Grantchester Charity Runs
Grantchester Charity Runs is a volunteer-run event featuring two distances that raise funds for Maggie’s Centre Cambridge and Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust. The routes run through farmland adjacent to Grantchester, just outside Cambridge, with no road crossings. The courses are mixed terrain and predominantly flat. Chip timing is provided for all participants.
Parking is available at the Grantchester Village Charity Car Park on the road to Trumpington, a short walk from the start. There is bike parking near the registration area. On-site registration and a bag drop are provided. Post-race refreshments are supplied with support from local vendors; a coffee van and an ice cream van are usually present. A local clinic offers post-run treatments and advice in sports massage, physiotherapy, osteopathy and podiatry.
Participant provisions include commemorative medals for all finishers, trophies for race winners, and a returning 10k team competition. T-shirts in two styles are offered for £18, which includes a donation to the partner charities. A special family offer applies to the 3k: registration for an accompanied under 12 is £6.50 plus fee, and the accompanying adult must register separately.
