Frostbite Sir Titus Trot
Frostbite Sir Titus Trot is a winter running event held on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal at the bottom of Victoria Road, Saltaire, next to the Boathouse Inn. The route follows towpaths and presents typical winter conditions with crisp air and potentially frosty surfaces.
Distances offered include:
- 10K
- 10 Mile
- Half Marathon
- 20 Mile
- Marathon
The course is an out-and-back towpath route described as flat or nearly flat and is licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules. Terrain is classed as good trail but can be icy or slippy in places, so care underfoot is advised. The course is fully marshalled and signed, with feed and drink stations approximately every three miles.
Facilities at the event include canal-side loos at the start and finish. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and event treats. The event is run as a cup-less event; runners use reusable cups or bottles. Audio equipment rules restrict large over-ear headphones; bone conduction or one in, one out arrangements are acceptable. Some road crossings on the route may be unmanned.
Access notes record a very short walk from Saltaire train station and nearby parking options including additional parking at Titus Salt School; local parking charges may apply. Transfers and deferrals can be managed online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
