Front Runners New York Cross Country 5K
Front Runners New York holds an annual cross country 5K meet at Van Cortlandt Park on September 26, 2026. The meet is listed as the 23rd annual event and is supported by the Tom Cook Fund. Participants assemble at the Tortoise & Hare Sculpture where a volunteer will direct bib pickup and the walk to the start area.
Registration is offered online with a base entry fee of $25 plus processing fees and optional donations. All registered participants receive a pair of translucent rainbow sunglasses. Packet pickup, race-day registration, and additional merchandise purchases will be available on site. Cash and credit card payments are accepted on race day, and a bag check will be provided.
Awards include top three overall finishers in male, female, and X categories, with the top overall finisher in each gender category receiving a $100 gift card. Age-group awards are presented for multiple decade categories, including 19 and under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70+.
