Frankie's Vertical Backyard Ultra
Frankie's Vertical Backyard Ultra takes place on September 26, 2026 at 220 Angus Archie Road in Mabou, Nova Scotia. The event is presented as a "vertical" backyard ultra with the tagline "Everest" every 24 hours.
The format uses a loop of approximately ~4 km with about 370 m of ascent per loop. Each hour, participants must complete the loop; the standard backyard ultra rules apply. The course sits on property referred to as Frankie's backyard.
On-site amenities include free camping at the start and finish for runners and crew. Organizers provide water and Tailwind throughout the event. The registration fee is CA$94.04 and includes race swag, insurance, and a CA$10 donation to the Mabou food bank; the event states that $10 from every registration is donated to the food bank. The prize structure lists $750 for the winner and $250 for the assist.
The event materials include vertical comparisons: one loop yields more vertical gain than the high point in Prince Edward Island (142 m), two loops exceed the combined high points listed for Nova Scotia and Ontario (693 m), and 17 loops exceed the elevation of Mount Logan (5956 m).
