Frankie's Vertical Backyard Ultra
Frankie's Vertical Backyard Ultra takes place at 220 Angus Archie Rd, Mabou, Nova Scotia on September 26, 2026. The event is billed as Canada’s first "vertical" backyard ultra and uses an "Everest" every 24 hours format.
Each loop is approximately 4 km and includes an ascent and descent totaling 370 m of vertical per lap. Standard backyard ultra rules apply: every participant has one hour to complete the next loop. Free camping is available at the start/finish area for runners and crew.
Water and Tailwind will be provided throughout the event. Ten dollars from every registration fee will be donated to the Mabou food bank. The listed registration fee is CA$94.04 and includes race swag, insurance, and the 10 $ donation.
Prizes announced include CA$750 for the winner and CA$250 for the assist. A volunteer option is offered at no cost; volunteers who work a 6 to 8 hour shift receive a free entry into Frankie's 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
