Foxton Hound Ultra
Foxton Hound Ultra on Saturday 14th August 2027 comprises two trail ultra distances around Market Harborough, following much of the Harborough Round through Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. The event uses local footpaths and passes villages and landmarks such as Houghton on the Hill, West Haddon, Coton, Stoke Albany, Foxton Locks, the Naseby Battle Field, and the Kelmarsh Tunnel on the Brampton Valley Way.

Both races are licensed by the TRA and run under UKA rules. The event includes multiple checkpoints and aid stations: seven on the 100k route and three on the 50k route. Aid stations provide fruit, crackers, crisps, biscuits, sweets, Tailwind, water, Coke and options for vegetarian and vegan needs; wraps and hot food are offered at selected checkpoints, with hot pasta at Checkpoint 4 and soup at Checkpoint 7 on the 100k course. Professional first aid is available at the start and finish and access to runners on course is provided.
Entries are priced at £75 for the 100k and £50 for the 50k, with a £2 discount for members of UK Athletics affiliated clubs. Minimum age on race day is 20 years. The 100k has an 18 hour cut off with progressive checkpoint cut offs from Checkpoint 3; the 50k has a 12 hour finish cut off and no checkpoint cut offs.
Navigation support includes downloadable GPX files and written route instructions; courses will be marked but participants are expected to be able to self navigate. Tracking and timing are provided by Open Tracking; trackers are issued at registration and must be returned after the race. Trail shoes are advisable. Mandatory kit includes a charged mobile phone, minimum 1 litre water capacity, survival blanket, head torch, waterproof jacket, whistle, long sleeved base layer or fleece, and a personal cup; additional kit requirements apply for the 100k. Free guided recces are offered prior to the event. Trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race and all finishers receive a commemorative medal. Free digital race photos will be available after the event. The event supports local foodbanks and entrants are offered the opportunity to donate.
