These trail events take place in Blue Ridge, VA, on a section of the Glenwood Horse Trail known as the Forever Section. The course uses part of the Hellgate 100k route (miles 55 to 60) and follows a rocky backcountry alignment between Day Creek Day Use Area and Bobblets Gap Road. Both the 5 mile and 10 mile courses are out and back.
The 5 mile course includes a volunteer or timing point at the halfway mark. The 10 mile course includes a timing point at Bobblets Gap Road to verify that runners reached the turnaround.
Virtual options are offered for both distances. The virtual events are run anywhere and count as RNUTS qualifying races. Registrants who register by 1/8/26 will receive the race shirt; registrants after that date will receive a Mountain Junkies LLC Socks Hoo Rag similar to a Buff.
Registration opens on 11/1/2026. Trail race registration for the in person 5 mile and 10 mile events closes on 1/5/2027. Virtual registration remains open through 1/30/2027. Listed fees include a registration fee of $35.00 for the Forever 5 Miler, $45.00 for the Forever 10 Miler, and $25.00 for each virtual run.
