Forest of Dean Spring Trails Half Marathon

The Forest of Dean Spring Trails is an officially measured half marathon (13 miles 192.5 yards) held on way-marked forest trails in the Forest of Dean. The route starts and finishes at Speech House and follows a clockwise loop on well maintained tracks with gentle inclines. The course is fully signed and marshalled, marked by yellow paint on the ground, and includes mile markers. Lead cyclists will guide the field and roads will be closed at points to allow runners to cross. There are three water stations located at approximately 5 km intervals and drinks are provided at the finish. Short road sections form part of the route so spikes should not be worn; road running shoes or trainers are appropriate.

The event is organised by The Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean with support from the Forestry Commission and raises funds for charity. It has been selected as the British Trail Running Association Short Distance championship and is a qualifier event for England Athletics Age Group Masters, with separate registration required for that qualifier. Entrants must be 17 or older on race day. Registration fees are listed for UKA affiliated and non affiliated runners, with a separate late entry fee structure and no entries on the day. Race timing uses gun timing for results and integrated chip timing for personal performance. Medical cover, radio communications and marshals will be in place, and event photographs are provided by Charles Whitton Photography. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
