Forest of Dean Wild Trail Runs & Off Road Duathlons 2027
The event is held at Speech House in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. It offers both trail running and off road duathlon formats on fully off road routes that use the forest’s maintained trails and wide woodland paths.
Distances
- 5 km Trail Run (Canicross friendly)
- 10 km Trail Run (Canicross friendly)
- Standard Duathlon: Run 10 km, Cycle 47 km, Run 5 km
- Sprint Duathlon: Run 5 km, Cycle 25 km, Run 2.5 km
All running routes are off road with gentle undulations and wide paths. Cycling routes use gravel fire roads and fast woodland tracks, include some technical sections, and feature climbs and long descents; they are suitable for gravel, hybrid, or mountain bikes.
Duathlon competitors use a secure transition area with racking rules: race number and bike number must match the racking spot, a small bag or box is permitted inside transition, bike number must be attached and helmet visible before entry, and numbers will be checked before leaving transition.
Live chip timing is provided and results are published online after the event. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer branded merchandise, and a drink and snack. Parking is on the event field at Speech House. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
