Fonta Flora 50k and Half Marathon
The event takes place in Nebo, North Carolina, along the trails and banks of Lake James State Park, with the start and finish at Fonta Flora Brewery's Whippoorwill Farm near Shortoff Mountain and the Linville Gorge. The weekend includes trail race options and relay teams, and portions of proceeds support trail development around Lake James, including the Fonta Flora State Trail.

The 50K is roughly 31.5 miles with about 2,400 feet of elevation gain; most of the route is single-track trail with short sections of gravel and pavement. The half marathon is about 13.1 miles with roughly 850 feet of elevation gain and nearly all single-track trail. Time limits are stated for each distance.
Relay leg distances are listed roughly as follows: the 2 person team legs are about 13.5 and 18.5 miles; the 3 person team legs are about 13.5, 12.5, and 6 miles in that order. Top finishing relay teams will receive awards in male, female, and co-ed categories.
Packet pickup is available at Fonta Flora's Whippoorwill Farm the evening before the event and at the start/finish on race weekend; early pickup is preferred. Lake James State Park campgrounds are within five miles of the start and hotels are available in Morganton about a 20 minute drive.
