Fall Community Trail Mixer | Avoca Park
The Fall Community Trail Mixer is a community trail event and trail shoe demo at Avoca Park on October 24. The setup is located just down the bike trail from the Fifty West store and centers on short trail laps and gear testing.
Attendees can test current off-road running shoe models from brands including HOKA, Altra, Saucony, ASICS, and Karhu on actual trails. Participants may run multiple short laps in demo shoes and provide feedback; those who demo at least one pair receive a neck gaiter. Ratings from demos will be used to help determine future retail selections.
Representatives from the Cincinnati Off-Road Alliance (CORA) will be present to share information about local trail systems and volunteer opportunities for trail protection and maintenance. The event also includes a build-your-own Trail Mix Bar where people can assemble trail snacks to take on the trails or home.
The occasion is presented as a low-pressure community gathering rather than a race. It is scheduled the day before the Stone Steps 50K and is noted as an informal shake out and gear check for runners preparing for that race. The event offers opportunities to meet other trail runners, exchange route or gear experiences, and seek informal advice on trail running and equipment.
