Vernal Equinox 48-24-12-8 Hour Run
Vernal Equinox is a multi-day trail running event held at Majestic Farm in Batavia, OH. The event uses a 2 mile loop that passes through wooded trails, meadows, gravel road and areas near ponds and barns. Aid station food includes typical ultrarunning fare plus hot items such as homemade soup, grilled cheese and coffee; vegan options are available. The event is cupless: participants receive a reusable cup with race packets and no paper cups are used at aid stations. Free clean horse stalls are available near the start/finish for staging, storage, or rest and can be shared; RV hookups are offered for a fee.
Cash prizes of $250 are available for breaking the 24 hour and 48 hour course records. Current course record distances are listed for 24 and 48 hour events. Superior swag is provided including Rabbit long sleeve shirts and custom finisher awards handmade in Ohio; belt buckles are offered for certain mileage achievements. A rucking division follows specified weight standards based on body weight. An Athletes With Disability division is offered with visual and mobility impaired categories; wheelchairs and hand cycles are not suitable for the course. Guide and AWD rules set expectations for safety, course following, and guide conduct. Packet pickup and stall move-in are scheduled across the days before and during the event.
