Firewater Ultra : Greenback, TN
Firewater Ultra is a trail event on the East Lakeshore Trail along the east coast of the Tellico Reservoir in Greenback, Tennessee. The races use the trail system end-to-end and return to the same southern finish at the Wildcat Pointe Trailhead (Trailhead #10). The northern turnaround is at the Canal Branch Trailhead (Trailhead #1).
Distances and formats:
- 100K out-and-back covering the entire trail.
- 50K Sunrise bus to the northern end, then run back to the finish.
- 50K Sunset later bus to the northern end, then run back to the finish; headlamps recommended.
- 50K - 2 Per Relay two runners split the 50K course into two legs.
- 25K Ruck roughly 22.5K, covers the second half of the 50K course.
Ruck specific rules: backpack weights are measured dry; weight classes are male/non-binary 30 lb, female 15 lb, boys under 15 20 lb, girls under 15 10 lb. Weigh-ins occur about 30 to 60 minutes before the start. Weight must be in stamped plates or equivalent and may not be reduced during the event. Each ruck finisher receives a custom patch and will weigh in at the finish to receive it.
Additional notes: organizers will provide hoodie sweatshirts and will place the shirt order on October 16. Optional live tracking is available for each race via Webscorer.
