Firewater Ultra - Greenback, TN
Firewater Ultra is a multi-distance trail event held on the East Lakeshore Trail along the east side of the Tellico Reservoir near Greenback, Tennessee. In its twelfth year, the event uses the full trail system and lists The Watershed Association of the Tellico Reservoir as the trail steward.
The event offers these distances:
- 100K runs the entire trail out to the northern Canal Branch Trailhead and back to the finish.
- 50K begins at the northern end and returns to the finish at Wildcat Pointe.
- 50K Relay teams split the 50K course into two legs with an exchange at Sinking Creek.
- 50K Sunrise and 50K Sunset options run the same 50K course from the northern trailhead back to Wildcat Pointe.
- 25K Ruck covers roughly the second half of the 50K course.
Course logistics include bus transfers for the 50K starts and published maps, aid station locations, cutoff times, crew access points, drop bag locations, and pacer policies. The finish line is at the southern terminus of the trail, Wildcat Pointe (Trailhead #10). Organizers will place the shirt order on October 16. Optional live tracking is available for each race. The ruck event requires dry pack weights with specific minimums by category and a weigh-in before the event; weight removal during the event is not allowed.
