About the race
The Firefly Trail Festival is a nighttime multi-discipline event held at Franke Park in Fort Wayne on 09/04/2027. It combines a six hour lap-based trail race and a set of night mountain bike rides, plus a wheelchair division that follows a paved and gravel course. The six hour events record laps on a large whiteboard and with electronic timing. The running and wheelchair version follow mixed surfaces including paved path, gravel, and technical singletrack.
The wheelchair course is described as paved path and gravel road. Mountain bike entries use Franke Park’s blue-rated trails. Course features include flowing singletrack, roots, turns, and climbs, and the route does not include jumps or drop-ins. The bike options are multiple laps of an approximately 10K loop to reach longer distances. Packet pickup is handled at The HUB in Franke Park.
Every participant receives a custom Firefly finisher medal. Top male and female finishers in each category receive handmade awards, and a Dead Freaking Last Award is presented to a final finisher. The event also provides an area for base camp and communal sharing of food and gear.
