Firefly Trail Festival
Firefly Trail Festival on 09/05/2026 takes place at Franke Park, 3411 Sherman Blvd, Fort Wayne, Indiana. The festival combines a timed endurance trail run, night mountain bike races on the park's Blue Trail, and a wheelchair division, all held after dark with separate courses for riders and runners.
The Six Hour Trail Race asks participants to complete as many laps as possible in six hours on a mix of paved path, gravel, and technical singletrack. Laps are recorded on a large whiteboard on race day and also tracked electronically. The six-hour running event is listed at 26.2 miles.
A six-hour wheelchair category follows a course of paved path and gravel road, with laps counted on the same whiteboard and recorded electronically.
Night Ride options use Franke Park’s blue-rated trail segments, which include flowing singletrack, roots, turns, and climbs; the course does not include jumps or drop-ins. Riders are offered multiple distance options:
- Six Hour - listed as 26.2 miles
- 10K - one 10K loop, approximately 6.25 miles
- 20K - two 10K loops, approximately 12.5 miles
- 30K - three 10K loops, approximately 18.75 miles
Every participant receives a custom Firefly finisher medal. Top male and female finishers in each category receive handmade awards and the event also recognizes the final finisher with a Dead Freaking Last Award. Packet pickup is located at The HUB. The event emphasizes an evening trail community atmosphere, base camp gathering, and shared trail stories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
