Firecracker Run - Coos Bay
The Firecracker Run takes place on July 4, 2027 at Mingus Park in Coos Bay, Oregon. The event offers a short run for children and a separate approximately 4-kilometer course for adults. Registration options include online sign-up, day-of registration, and member pricing; members are not charged, and non-members pay a fee.
The course is measured around the park lake and on nearby streets and trails. Specifics:
- 1/2 mile kid's run, 1.5 times around the lake
- 4K adult run, three times around the lake plus a large hill in Mingus Park
After leaving the lake loop, the adult course continues on city streets, follows a dirt trail in Mingus Park, and finishes on the paved lakeside path. The route has been adjusted slightly from previous years because of erosion on the uphill trail, and the course will be well marked.
Volunteer opportunities are available with various roles and shifts. Participants can stay after the event for a festival in Mingus Park. Fireworks are organized that evening for all participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
