Finch Hatton Waterfalls Trail Run
The Finch Hatton Waterfalls Trail Run is a trail running event held on 29 August 2027 at Finch Hatton Gorge, Queensland. The course runs through sub‑tropical rainforest and includes fire roads, technical single track, granite boulder trails, cascading creeks, natural swimming holes, and notable features such as Araluen Cascades and the Wheel of Fire.
Three distances are offered:
- 6 km Water Sprint
- 12 km Araluen Cascades
- 18 km All the Waterfalls
The 6 km follows fire roads and small streams. The 12 km reaches Araluen Falls where participants dive into the water to unlock a code before returning to the finish. The 18 km route visits both Araluen Falls and the Wheel of Fire and includes stair climbs and varied terrain.
Mandatory gear must be carried for the duration of the run and includes a compression bandage, a fully charged phone, nutrition and hydration, a whistle, and the race bib. One water station is available on course; competitors are responsible for their own water and nutrition needs. Marshals and a safety vehicle with first aid are provided. Toilets are available at the trail head and water and fruit are supplied at the finish. Prize money is offered for the top three in each distance.
