About the race
Finch Hatton Flowing Trails is a trail running event held on the Finch Hatton Mountain Bike Trails in Finch Hatton Gorge, Queensland. The courses use purpose-built single track, fire roads and MTB lines through sub-tropical forest, offering flowing berms, switchback climbs and fast descents. The event runs laps that bring competitors back to a START/FINISH line every 6 km.
Distances:
- 6 km sprint loop using G'day G'day, Salubrious and No Rope trails.
- 12 km two-loop course mixing fire trails and MTB single track.
- 18 km three-loop long course with additional ascents and valley views.
The course is marked with signage, arrows and caution tape, and marshals and a safety vehicle with first aid are on course. Mandatory gear must be carried for the duration of the run and includes a compression bandage, a fully charged phone, and a whistle; competitors are responsible for their own water and nutrition. One water station is available at the START/FINISH line and is passed every 6 km. Toilets and showers are available at the trail head. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each distance, with prize money listed for each course. The organiser reserves the right to modify the course, reschedule or cancel the event as needed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
