Fidalgo Trail Run
Fidalgo Trail Run takes place in Deception Pass State Park and uses Bowman Bay as the start and finish area. The event offers these distances:
- 5 Mile
- Half marathon
- Full marathon
All courses follow a common route of loops and lollipops that visit the Rosario, Lighthouse, and Lottie Point shorelines. The half-marathon route continues around Pass Lake, crosses the Deception Pass Bridge on the pedestrian walkway, circles Goose Rock, and includes a long out-and-back to West Beach. The full marathon completes two loops of the half-marathon course. The Deception Pass Bridge is open to traffic during the race and has a height of about 180 ft.
Aid stations are placed along the courses with volunteers, food, and hydration. Elevation gain for the listed distances is approximately 1300 ft for the 5 Mile, 3300 ft for the Half, and 6600 ft for the Full. Parking at Bowman Bay is limited; half-marathon participants will use off-site parking with shuttle service. Evergreen Trail Runs operates cupless events, so all runners must carry a refillable container.
The event includes a Woodland Speeders kid’s race of about 0.6 miles along Bowman Bay beach; parents may run with their children. Every finisher receives a piece of handmade finisher swag. The event supports Washington Trails Association and offers environmental options such as the Trees not Tees program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
