Evenstar Ultras
Evenstar Ultras is a timed trail running event at Shenandoah River State Park. Runners choose a time block and cover as much distance as they can within that block. The course is a 3.48 mile trail loop that returns frequently to the main aid station, reducing the need to carry excessive gear, fuel, or navigation tools.
The event offers four time options:
- 3 HR
- 6 HR
- 12 HR
- 24 HR
The inaugural race is scheduled for October 17-18, 2026. The format supports a range of endurance efforts, including attempts such as a first 50k or a 100 mile run. The event is organized with a no DNF policy so that completed distances and accomplishments are recognized.
The name Evenstar references Middle-earth lore and the Shenandoah Valley tradition of stargazing along the river.
