About the race
Etape Bornholm is a five-day stage running event totaling 42,195 meters, the distance of a marathon, broken into five separate daily etapes from Monday to Friday. Participants run each day, completing a cumulative marathon over varied terrain on the island of Bornholm.
The route includes sandy sections, coastal stretches, rocky areas, long forested climbs, notable ascents at Hammershus, and two faster town circuits. The five etaper take place in different locations on Bornholm: Hasle, Dueodde, Almindingen, Hammeren, and Rønne.
The event attracts more than 2,600 recreational and elite runners and draws thousands of spectators. Information is available about age classes and prizes, and results have been recorded since 1994. Shuttle buses operate on some weekdays during the event period.
Distances are presented as the combined marathon total across the five etaper and each day forms one etape of that total. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
