Endless Day Backyard Ultra
Endless Day Backyard Ultra is a timed backyard ultra event held in Richfield, UT at Nielson Family Park and surrounding farm roads. Participants run repeated loops of a 6.55 mile course that must be completed within 90 minutes. The format continues up to 24 hours; runners may stop at any time and still receive the distance they completed.
Distance milestones are awarded based on laps completed:
- 10K (1 lap)
- Half Marathon (2 laps)
- Marathon (4 laps)
- 50K (5 laps)
- 50 Miles (8 laps)
- ~100 Miles (15 laps)
The course surface is mostly flat dirt roads through farm fields, with three city blocks of pavement between the park and the farm roads. Aid support includes a full aid station at the start/finish park area, a second aid station about halfway through the loop, and two self-serve coolers for additional cooling. The event offers a finisher milestone memento and an event hat.
Weather in June in central Utah is described as dry and hot; participants are advised to prepare gear, hydration, and cooling strategies accordingly. There is space to set up personal base camps within Nielson Family Park, and areas near the northern pavilion will be roped off for camp use.
