Elkhorn Relay
The Elkhorn Relay is a six-person team relay held on August 14, 2027, in La Grande, Oregon. The event is organized by Run With Purpose Racing and is listed as a course of 80.6 miles.
The course begins at Hilgard Junction State Park and follows old Highway 244 south along the Grande Ronde River. After leaving the river the route climbs into backcountry terrain, including a 20+ mile section of gravel mountain roads. Runners gain approximately 6,000 feet of elevation and climb the backside of Anthony Lakes to about 7,400 feet. Each team member finishes with a trail leg at the ski resort.
This is the 11th annual running of the Elkhorn Relay. Registration is managed in defined windows with tiered pricing: early registration from October 22, 2026 to December 31, 2026 at $500; regular registration from January 1, 2027 to May 31, 2027 at $550; and late registration from June 1, 2027 to July 10, 2027 at $600.
