Railway 5k and 1 Mile : Hendersonville, NC
The Railway 5k and 1 Mile is scheduled for September 12, 2026, at the Hendersonville Welcome Center, 201 South Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792. The event is presented by Aetna and is staged on the Ecusta Trail, a former railroad corridor converted into a shared-use greenway that connects Hendersonville and Brevard.
Two distances are offered:
- 5K
- 1 Mile (un-timed fun run)
Registrations include a short sleeve Bella Canvas event shirt if completed by August 16, a commemorative finisher medal for all participants, a goody bag, chip-timing, and complimentary race photos. The course is described as well-marked and spectator friendly. There are awards for overall and age group winners.
Options are available for participants who cannot attend in person: transfer to a virtual event, request a deferral, or change race distance subject to the event's transfer and fee policies. Registrations are non-refundable. Kids 12 and under have a discounted 5K price through August 30 and must be accompanied by an adult.
Packet pickup is planned before the race and on race day at the Trailhead Pavilion and the Hendersonville Welcome Center parking lot. The organizer reserves the right to modify, postpone, cancel, or convert the event to a virtual format. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
