Eagleton Trail Challenge : Lock Haven, PA
The Eagleton Trail Challenge is a multi-distance trail race weekend held in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, organized by the Eastern States Trail-Endurance Alliance. The event uses the Eagleton trail system and includes single-track trails with varied footing, technical sections, and substantial elevation change.
The weekend offers these distances:
- 47K : trail, ~4,000 ft elevation gain, 6 aid stations, mostly runnable with technical first and last 5 km
- 25K (Run or Ruck) : trail, ~2,200 ft elevation gain, 3 aid stations, technical early and late
- 10K (Run or Ruck) : trail, ~1,200 ft elevation gain, 1 aid station, compact course with steep climbing
Course descriptions note runnable middle sections with more technical terrain in the opening and closing kilometers for the longer courses. Time limits are specified for some distances. Surfaces are trail and dirt throughout.
Ruck entries follow specific equipment rules: participants carry a weighted rucksack, with dry weight standards of 20 lb for those 150 lb or heavier and 10 lb for those under 150 lb. Allowed weights include steel plates, bricks, or sandbags; food and water must be removed before weigh-in. Weighted vests are not permitted.
Certain races are designated as part of the Rocksylvania Trail Series for 2026. Post-race food is provided at the finish area. Registration opens September 15, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
