About the race
The Dursley Dozen is a 12-mile running race over mixed and demanding terrain around Dursley. The course includes hills, woodland, open country, mud, short road sections, gravel paths and numerous roots and other obstacles. The route involves just over 2000 feet of climbing and is predominantly on woodland trails that are alternately muddy and stony.
The course follows local lanes and footpaths, ascending Hill Road and rising onto Stinchcombe Hill Golf Course before re-entering the woods for a series of climbs and descents. Runners pass the Leaf and Ground pond, traverse exposed paths by Drakestone Point, descend Axe Lane to Waterley Bottom and complete a circuit of Breakheart Quarry before returning through the woods and descending into the town. The final approach runs down the pedestrianised Parsonage Street to finish outside Dursley Market Hall where finishers receive a technical T shirt and items from event sponsors. Spectators line Parsonage Street to watch the finish.
The 2026 event was the 36th edition. The 2027 Dursley Dozen is scheduled for 21 February 2027 and entries are planned to open in summer 2026. Race results and photos from recent editions are made available online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
