DT Stone Anvil

DT Stone Anvil is a set of trail races held inside Fort Mountain State Park in the Cohutta Mountains near Chatsworth, GA. The event uses a folded figure-eight route with an inner loop (clockwise) and an outer loop (counter-clockwise). The outer loop is about 20 miles with roughly 5,000 feet of elevation gain per loop; two taps on the Pinhoti Connector add about 3.4 miles and 1,500 feet of climb.

Each loop includes multiple aid points: three full aid stations, an aid point with water and snacks, and two water points, for six aid points per loop. Four aid points are crew accessible. Primary crew-accessible locations named in course information include Lakeside, Cool Springs Overlook, and the Park Entrance / Start/Finish area near the main parking and lake.

The course mixes technical trail sections (for example parts of the Gahuti trail) with rolling, wider single- or double-track and several steep climbs, including a roughly one-mile Power Line Climb that gains about 1,000 feet. Measured vertical totals include just under 25,000 ft for the 100 mile course and about 8,000 ft for the 50 km course. Completion of each loop returns to the main parking area by the lake.

Pacing and crew rules: pacers are allowed after specified loop thresholds for each distance and may be picked up or dropped at crew-accessible aid stations. For 2027 the previous 72-hour option was replaced by a 200 km race distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
