Dragon's Back Race 2027
Dragon's Back Race is a multi-day mountain event organised by Ultra X, held 6th - 11th September 2027, running from Conwy to Cardiff. The main route, The Dragon, covers 380 km with 16,400 m of ascent over six days along the Dragon's Back of Wales.
The Hatchling runs alongside The Dragon and allows participants to choose either the first half or the second half of the day's route. Dragon's Fire is a two-day introduction that starts at Conwy Castle and covers the event's most challenging terrain. Dragon's Tail is a two-day segment that crosses the Bannau Brycheiniog and finishes in Cardiff.
Entry options include standard and charity places with listed prices in euros. Example standard prices are: The Dragon €2,528.66 plus €47.34 booking fee, Dragon's Fire €722.99 plus €13.75 fee, Dragon's Tail €481.59 plus €9.26 fee. Charity entries require fundraising pledges of £3,000 for The Dragon and £1,000 for Dragon's Fire and Dragon's Tail.
It is possible to exchange an entry for a credit for a fee of £50.00 until 09/05/2027; credits are valid for 12 months. An instalment plan is available with an additional fee of 1% plus £0.50 per instalment; missed payments may lead to removal from the event and loss of monies paid.
