Donald Dash Trail Run

The event is a trail running program held at Donald County Park, Pop's Knoll entrance on HWY 92 in Mount Horeb, WI (1945 HWY 92, 53572). The course includes prairie, single track, sand, slick bridges and hills. Two race distances are offered to provide a shorter option and a longer option on the same trail terrain. A Kids One Mile Fun Run returns for 2027.

There is a capacity of about 300 participants. Aid stations provide energy drink, water and energy food during the races. Awards include overall male and female recognitions with a locally crafted award, age-group awards by gender, assorted prizes and door prizes, and cash for setting a new course record. One hundred percent of proceeds are donated to Friends of Donald Park, with funds earmarked for trail maintenance and repair. Parking is limited at the Pop's Knoll entrance. The park is located a short drive from nearby towns, including Mount Vernon and Mount Horeb, and is southwest of Madison. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Kids One Mile Fun Run

Events nearby

A new trail race in Verona, Wisconsin offering 5K and 10K courses through prairies, woodlands and oak savannas. Net proceeds support Prairie Moraine Friends for park restoration; parking is limited and ride sharing is encouraged.
Alternating hourly 4.2 mile legs between Belleville Community Park and Dot's Tavern continue until one runner remains, with 8, 24 and 48 hour options also available.
A women only Last Woman Standing trail event on a roughly one to 1.25 mile loop with 250 to 300 ft of climb per lap near Arena Wisconsin. Laps repeat every 20 minutes until one runner remains.
