District 19
District 19 is a run crew-led race experience organized by District Running Collective in Anacostia, Washington, DC, with start and finish at Atlas Brew Works - Bridge District (600 Howard Rd SE). The event was created as a community-centered response to uncertain times and frames running as a form of collective movement and storytelling.
The event is an unsanctioned road and trail run that weaves through multiple quadrants of the District. All courses begin and end at the same location and will have course markers to guide participants. Roads will not be closed for the race, so runners must follow pedestrian and traffic rules and remain aware of surroundings. Medical professionals will be positioned at water stations and at the start/finish. Aid station counts by distance are provided on the course information.
Distances offered:
- 19 Mile near-marathon distance; t-shirt, post-race snack, and finisher medal.
- 19K (11.8 miles) near half-marathon distance; t-shirt, post-race snack, and finisher medal.
- 5K (3.1 miles) short-distance option; t-shirt, post-race snack, and finisher medal.
