About the race
The Dirty Feet Heartbreak event at the Stake Lake Nordic Centre, south of Kamloops on Lac Le Jeune road, offers multiple trail distances on August 14, 2027. The event uses marked single track and wider trails with hills, rocks, roots and some technical rock sections. The start and main staging area are within walking distance of the parking lot; the headquarters (HQ) is at the main parking area where drop bags and aid station access are located.
Distances
- 100 km solo or relay, 8 legs, approx 2000 m elevation.
- 50 km solo or four leg relay, approx 1000 m elevation.
- 25 km using legs 1 and 2.
- 25 km night race on legs 2 and 3; two headlamps required.
Aid stations are located throughout the courses with many stations at the main HQ. Drop bags are available for 50 km and 100 km runners at the HQ. Cutoffs for the 100 km include the start of leg 5 at 13 hours, the start of leg 8 at 22 hours and a 24 hour finish limit; the 50 km has a start of leg 4 cutoff at 20 hours.
Mandatory equipment and rules include headlamps from 6pm, a light jacket after 6pm, a minimum of 500 ml electrolytes carried with capacity for 1 L, and bibs worn on the front. Pacers are not allowed on course and crew access is restricted to the HQ/start/finish area.
Event swag and awards include custom Dirty Feet items, a half pound of Shuswap Coffee, custom bibs (for early registrants), finisher medals for 25 km, 50 km and relay finishers, and a belt buckle for solo 100 km finishers.
