Dinton 5km and 10km Summer Series

Barnes Fitness stages a four-event summer running series at Dinton Pastures Country Park near Reading. The series in 2026 takes place on 14 May, 18 June, 16 July and 13 August. Events are organised as repeatable races so participants can compare times across the series.

Distances

  • 5 km one lap of the course
  • 10 km two laps of the same course
  • 2 km kids race for ages 4 to 14

The route is an off road, traffic free circuit around Dinton Pastures. The 5 km is a single lap and the 10 km is two laps of the same flat course. The kids 2 km is an out and back course with marshals positioned so children remain in sight of a marshal along the route.

Event features listed by the organiser include chip timing with instant results, well sign posted routes and trained marshals. Finishers receive a metal medal and there are awards for podium places and age group winners. On-site first aid and safeguarding cover is provided. Free event photos are available after each race and fruit is provided at the finish line.

New arrangements for 2026 include a £5 flat rate parking fee payable via a pre-booking link sent with confirmations. Entrants aged over 16 are offered one free session at Shredquarters Twyford. The series medal design uses a monthly fruit theme; the four magnetic medals form a circle when collected, and organisers offer a remote proof option to obtain missed medals by post.
