Deveron Harrier's festival of running
The Deveron Harriers festival of running takes place on 09 August 2026 and offers multiple race distances: a half marathon, a 10k, a 5k and a junior 1k fun run.
The event is multi-terrain and follows the River Deveron from Turriff to Banff. The half marathon sets off from Turriff and predominantly follows a quiet road along National Cycle Route 1 before entering a woodland trail. The later section crosses the Bridge of Alvah, runs through the Duff House grounds past the Ice House and Mausoleum, and finishes at the Duff House Rugby Club playing pitches. The 10k joins the same route at Castle Eden. The 5k is a trail run through the Duff House grounds. The junior 1k takes place inside the rugby pitches and nearby woods.
Logistics and notes: registration takes place at Duff House Rugby Club Pavilion where toilet facilities are available, and buses transport runners to the start locations. Age minimums apply: half marathon 17+, 10k 15+, 5k 11+. All race finishers receive a medal. The course has mile markers, regular water stations (including stations at miles 3, 7, 9 and 11), designated marshals, ample car parking and toilets, and an SAL permit. Online entry closes 2 August 2026 and transfers must be completed by 6 August; no refunds. Music devices are allowed but headphones must be removed at any road crossing or when requested by marshals or officials. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
