Endurance Event at Flat Creek Crossing Ranch
The Desert Wolf is an endurance event held at Flat Creek Crossing Ranch, located just outside of Austin in Johnson City, Texas. The race takes place on a course consisting of dirty and rocky single-track and wide-track trails. Participants run through a landscape that includes portions of the ranch and Pedernales Falls State Park.
The event follows a 4 mile loop beginning and ending at the ranch. For those participating in the longer distances, the 25 km loop features approximately 1400 ft of elevation gain. Historically, the area experiences average temperatures between 65 and 84 degrees during this time of year.

- 50 km
- 25 km
- 25 km Ruck (requires a minimum weight of 25 lb)
- 12 km
- 6 km
- 5 km
The Desert Wolf is part of the Texas Legends Series. Support is provided through fully marked courses and aid stations stocked with food and hydration. Participants in the 100 km distance are permitted to have pacers for the final two loops, while 50 km runners may have a pacer for their final loop. Please note that dogs are not permitted on the ranch property.
Finisher awards vary by distance and include shirts, collectible medals, patches for ruck participants, and silver belt buckles for those completing the 100 km race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
