Demi-Marathon de la Voie Verte
The event offers three distances on the Chelsea community trail and local roads: a linear half-marathon, a 5 km out-and-back, and a 1 km loop near the Chelsea Co Brewery. The half-marathon starts at Farm Point and finishes at the Chelsea Co Brewery; about 18.5 km of the 21.1 km course runs on La Voie Verte, with the first 2.7 km along River Road toward Wakefield. The Chelsea trail follows an old railway corridor just over 20 km in length and is used year-round for running, cycling and winter grooming for skiing.
Distances:
- 21.1 km linear half-marathon from Farm Point to Chelsea Co Brewery
- 5 km out-and-back with about 3 km on La Voie Verte
- 1 km single loop on local roads near Chelsea Co Brewery
Key event details include a 5 km field limit of 250 runners, water stations on the 5 km at km 1.2 and 3.8, and age categories spanning youth to 75+. Entry fees include a finisher medal for all participants, t-shirts by Surge for the half and 5 km, timing by Sportstats, refreshments at the finish, a full medical team, bag service for the half, pace bunnies and bus transportation to the half start and from the finish. The event holds a Silver sanction from Athlétisme Québec.
The race is organized as a non-profit with proceeds directed to local charities including Maison Libère-Elle and La Voie Verte de Chelsea. The organizers state a goal to recycle 100% of event materials. Registration for 2027 is open. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
