Dartmoor Diary TBC

Dartmoor Diary TBC is the third in a series of smaller challenge events based on Dartmoor, organised by LDWA Cornwall and Devon. The event is scheduled for 19 September 2027 and takes place on Dartmoor. Entries open on 1 January 2027 and close on 24 August 2027. Entry for LDWA members is listed at £20.

Entrants must be able to read a map and follow compass bearings, and have the knowledge, experience, equipment and navigational skills to complete the walk in all conditions, including in poor weather. Participants are required to follow the Dartmoor Ranger Code and the Countryside Code throughout the event.

All routes will be covered by the OS Explorer OL28 map. Route descriptions and GPX files will be emailed to entrants prior to the event. Dogs are not permitted except for registered disability assistance dogs. Certificates will be provided on the day to those who complete the walk.

Tackle the Sticklepath Horseshoe a 15.5 km fell race over rugged moorland with 519 m climb. Pre entry is limited so book early. Bring map compass and solid navigation skills as this event is not suitable for beginners.
A Dartmoor fell race with a senior course of about 10 km and 450 m climb plus junior races for ages 6 and up. The route is marshalled for erosion control and race HQ is at the rugby club with nearby parking.
An evening fell race on Dartmoor with a 7.5 km senior course, marked junior routes and a 150 runner limit.
Trail races of 8 and 4 miles at Newnham Park near Plymouth with canicross options; proceeds support Bowel Cancer West.
