Dark & Dirty Nighttime 10K Trail Run
The Dark & Dirty Nighttime 10K Trail Run takes place in Reading, Pennsylvania, utilizing the trail networks overlooking the city. The event is held at night, requiring all participants to provide their own illumination, such as headlamps or flashlights. The organizers mark the turns with glowing objects to assist with navigation through the wooded areas.
The course primarily consists of double and triple track rustic trails. These paths are selected for being less technical and wider than standard single-track trails to account for the limited visibility. The route includes natural features such as rocks, downed logs, and mud. A wheel-measured course is provided, and the event features at least one beverage stop along the way.
The race starts and finishes at the Liederkranz German Singing & Sports Club. Facilities at the venue include indoor restrooms, a covered pavilion, and a German BeerGarten where beverages are available for purchase. Post-race food is provided to participants.
