About the race
Dalmeny Halloween Trail Half is a trail running event near Edinburgh that runs across Dalmeny Estate and parts of Cammo Nature Reserve on 31 October 2026. The route combines wooded trails, riverside paths and farm tracks and includes a few undulations totaling less than 1,000 ft of ascent.
The main distance is:
- 13.1 miles / 21.1 km for runners aged 17 and over on race day.
Registration and event base are at Longcraigs Scout Hall in South Queensferry, about 1 mile from Dalmeny Rail Station. The event uses chip timing and awards a finisher’s medal to everyone. There are prizes for first male and female in each age category. Event apparel such as t-shirts and hoodies are available to pre-order or buy on the day. A buffet and hot drinks are provided in the finisher area.
Course and safety provisions include route markers, friendly marshals and first aiders on the course. Practical facilities listed by the organiser include parking in South Queensferry, toilets and a bag drop at the Scout Hall. Participant numbers are limited; the organiser gives a maximum attendee capacity around 350.
