CRR Fish Creek X/C Race
The CRR Fish Creek X/C is the final race of the Grand Prix season and served as event number 10 in the 2025–2026 series. The course lies within Fish Creek Provincial Park and passes through wooded trails, open meadows and steep hills. Typical cross country conditions may include snow, ice, mud, water crossings and uneven footing. Spikes or cleats are strongly recommended.
Distances
- Kids Fun Run: about 0.5 to 1 km, mostly flat
- 4 km: one loop with hills, snow, ice, and possible water crossings
- 8 km: two loops or an extension farther into the park
The start and finish are located approximately 150 m west of the Hull's Wood parking lot in Fish Creek Provincial Park. Parking is available at the Hull's Wood lot. Directions note Bow Bottom Trail south toward Sikome Lake; Hull's Wood is about 400 m north of Sikome Lake. Participants should park only in designated lots and observe the park speed limit of 30 kph. The organizing club is not responsible for ticketed vehicles.
Pre-registration is requested online when available. Entry fees listed for the event are: General $12, CRR Members $8, Full-Time Students $6, Children 12 and under free. Payments are collected on-site in cash; pre-registered runners need only pay, while day-of registrants must also complete a form.
A post-race social is held at the Deer Run Community Centre offering hot soup, rolls and beverages. Attendees are asked to bring their own bowl, mug and spoon to reduce waste. Races typically proceed if temperatures are warmer than -20 °C; the final decision rests with the race director. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
