CRR Twelve Mile Coulee X/C Race
The CRR Twelve Mile Coulee X/C Race is scheduled to return in January 2027; a prior edition was held on January 24, 2026 as Event #7 of the 2025–2026 Grand Prix Series. The course runs through Twelve Mile Coulee with trails along the benchlands and into the coulee.
Course conditions are typical for cross-country: snow, ice, mud, and rolling terrain with climbs out of the coulee. Treaded shoes, cleats, or spikes are strongly recommended.
Distances:
- ~0.5 km Kids’ Fun Run on pathway or dirt track
- ~4 km Main race course, configuration varies by year
- ~8 km Main race course, configuration varies by year
Logistics note: the start and finish are located one block east of Tuscany Community Hall; primary parking is at Tuscany Community Hall and a small lot near the start/finish fills quickly. Participants are asked to avoid blocking residential access and driveways.
Registration and fees: pre-registration may be closed; payment is collected in cash at the start/finish. Entry fees listed are $12 general, $8 Calgary Roadrunners members, $6 full-time student, and $0 for the Kids’ 1K Race. A parent or guardian must complete a digital waiver for each child entered.
Volunteers are needed for setup, timing, marshalling, results, and kitchen assistance. A post-race social is held at Tuscany Community Hall with hot soup, rolls, and beverages; participants are encouraged to bring their own bowl, mug, and spoon to reduce waste. In cold conditions the Race Directors make the final decision about proceeding, with a common cutoff around -20 °C. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
