About the race
Croyde Ocean Triathlon is held at Putsborough Sands in North Devon and takes in coastal scenery of the South West. The event is listed for 11 July 2027 and has previously sold out. It has an environmental focus that has included work to reduce the event carbon footprint since 2019, and beach safety cover is provided by the RNLI. The event was named Triathlon England Awards 2025 Large Event of the Year SW.
The programme includes multiple race options and a coastal trail run. All profits now go to charity and the event works with local and regional charity partners. A volunteer team of over 170 people supports race day operations.
- Olympic Triathlon: 1.5 km ocean swim, 37 km bike and 11 km trail run
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m ocean swim, 18.5 km bike and 5.5 km trail run
