Croyde Ocean Triathlon
Croyde Ocean Triathlon takes place at Putsborough Sands in North Devon and follows coastal routes that showcase the South West coastline. The 2027 event is scheduled for 11 July 2027 and was sold out in the previous year. The event is based at the award-winning Putsborough Sands and includes beach ocean swims and trail running on coastal paths.
Distances offered:
- Olympic Triathlon: 1.5 km ocean swim, 37 km bike and 11 km trail run
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m ocean swim, 18.5 km bike and 5.5 km trail run
- Tri the Trail: coastal trail routes for runners
All profits from the event go to charity. Beach safety cover is provided by the RNLI. The event works with local and national charity partners and a range of sponsors, and it reported a volunteer team of over 170 people. Since 2019 the organisers have highlighted a focus on reducing the event’s carbon footprint. The event received recognition at the Triathlon England Awards 2025 as Large Event of the Year SW.
