Cradle Mountain Trophy in Magaliesburg
The Cradle Mountain Trophy returns as a two-day gravel, mountain bike and trail running event on 3 and 4 October 2026. It takes place in the Magaliesberg region with Valley Lodge & Spa named as the race venue.
The event forms Leg 4 of the Stellantis Adventure Series and carries double series points. The overall series prize purse is R350,000 with R100,000 each allocated to the overall male and female series winners. The weekend event features more than R40,000 in prize money and specific race prizes including R10,000 for certain cycling winners and R6,000 for trail running prizes, with R1,500 for each trail winner.
Cycling and gravel options are spread across two days:
- 100 km gravel/MTB stage
- 70 km gravel/MTB stages
- 45 km gravel/MTB stage
- 20 km gravel/MTB stage
Trail run and walk options:
- 5 km trail run or walk
- 10 km trail run or walk
- 15 km trail run only
The weekend also debuts the Mountain Trophy Adventure, a two-day schools stage race in the Luxliner Schools Series featuring a 15 km time trial and age-group races of 20 km or 45 km.
