Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series #3 is the 21st annual race in King County’s Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park in Newcastle, WA. The event is produced by Seattle Running Club and Northwest Trail Runs and has raised over $254,000 for King County Parks while contributing many hundreds of hours of trail work.

The venue features rolling, runnable hills and a variety of trail types, ranging from narrow, technical single-track to wider, groomed trails. Runners pass through lush forest, fern-lined single-track, over hills and along marshes. The park is located about 15 minutes from Seattle.

Distances offered:

  • 5k
  • 10.8 mile
  • 19.5 mile

The event program includes packet pick-up, a course briefing, posted course maps, and awards. The registration status for the upcoming edition is listed as coming soon. The registration and start location is Sky Country Trailhead off 166th Way SE.

The series has a competition structure with Short and Long series. Runners must compete in at least three of the four races in either the Short Series or the Long Series to be eligible for series standings. Scores from the Short and Long races may not be combined.
