Corscombe Trail Races
Corscombe Trail Races is an inaugural, community-focused trail-running event taking place in Corscombe, West Dorset on 12 June 2027. Race headquarters and the finish are at Corscombe Court, and the races are held alongside the traditional Corscombe Village Fête.
Three events are offered, all using countryside paths, fields and tracks close to the village:
- 11K - about 11 km, min age 17, varied countryside: fields, woodland, tracks.
- 5K - about 5 km, min age 14, rural paths and rolling terrain.
- 2K Family Run - about 2 km, ages 4+, 40 junior and 10 adult places.
The 11K and 5K share a combined entry limit of 200 runners and include professional race timing, published results and a finisher medal. The 2K Family Run is limited to 50 places, uses manual finish recording and is aimed at children and families; children aged 4–7 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. An on-course water point is planned for the longer race and basic race-day medical provision and toilets are provided.
Courses are waymarked with marshals and a tail runner, and event parking is planned in a signposted field off Norwood Lane rather than at Race HQ. The organiser intends any distributable surplus to support local causes. A Trail Running Association licence application for the adult races is pending.
