Cold Coding - Lake Geneva, WI
Cold Coding is a mid-December 2026 running event in Lake Geneva, WI, organized by TYDISH Running at Lake Geneva Ziplines and Adventures, N3232 County Road H. The event is built around a 4 mile loop that participants may run once or twice to complete an 8 mile option. Distances offered include:
- 4 mile loop
- 8 miles via two loops
The event emphasizes canicross, a form of running where a person is attached hands free to a dog via a bungee line and waist belt. Participants may also run with a dog on a Y-shaped harness and hand held leash for a dog friendly option. Runners without dogs can enter as solo participants.
Course notes: the 4 mile loop includes about 463 ft of ascent and 479 ft of descent and follows winding, technical singletrack that shares trails with mountain bikers. The organizers do not have exclusive use of the grounds and ask participants to yield to others.
Entry fees include registration, drinks, snacks, and a finisher gift; shirts and other merchandise are not included by default. On course there will be water and an electrolyte drink refill station but no disposable cups, so participants should bring their own hydration vessel. Alcohol is not permitted. No cowbells or other persistent noise makers are allowed. Awards will be given to the top three men and women overall finishers in each distance, with podium eligibility limited to competitors running with a dog.
