Abominable Snow Race
The Abominable Snow Race is a winter-themed obstacle course event held at Lake Geneva Ziplines & Adventures in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The course features various challenges designed by Race Ready Obstacles, set within an outdoor festival area known as Basecamp. The event includes fire pits, music, and food trucks serving craft beer and hot chocolate.
Participants can choose from several distances and participation styles:
- 5 km: Includes 15+ obstacles with a focus on fun and optional completion.
- 10 km: Includes 25+ obstacles available in both fun run and competitive formats.
- 20 km: Consists of two laps of the 10 km course with 50+ total obstacles.
- 400 m to 800 m: A dedicated course for children with 7 to 10 obstacles.
In the fun run divisions, completing obstacles is optional, and participants may skip any obstacle they are not comfortable with. The competitive 10 km division requires mandatory obstacle completion to remain in contention for podium awards and cash prizes. All participants receive a finisher's shirt and a medal, while those completing the 20 km challenge receive three medals.
The venue provides a free bag drop area and separate changing tents for men and women. On-site parking is available for a fee with pre-payment, and off-site parking includes a shuttle bus service to the event grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
