Cirque Series - Alta
The Cirque Series event at Alta takes place on August 14, 2027 at 10520 East Day Lodge Road, Alta, UT 84092. The course is a 7.1 mile trail with approximately 2,545 ft of vertical gain.
Races are offered in Sport (beginner / intermediate), Expert and Pro divisions, plus a Volunteer category. Registration opens August 18, 2026 and closes August 14, 2027; entry fees for the Sport, Expert and Pro divisions are listed at $99 each, and the Volunteer category is free. The event is capped at 500 entries.
Prizes are awarded at the end of each race. Per-race awards listed by division include cash prizes in Pro and gear prizes in Expert and Sport. Pro race prizes include $1,000 for first, $250 for second and $150 for third per race. Expert prizes include $400, $300 and $200 in gear for first through third per race. Sport prizes include $300, $200 and $100 in gear for first through third per race. Additional recognitions include awards for the youngest competitor, the wisest competitor, an unofficial MVP and the middle finisher.
Timing uses a disposable chip on the back of the race bib; participants are asked not to fold or remove the chip before the race. Hydration is provided at aid stations and the finish line. Event guidelines ask participants to respect private property and Forest Service officials, carry out all waste, avoid trespassing and not impede other runners.
Overall season standings award points to the top 20 finishers each race, with first place receiving 50 points and 20th place receiving 2 points. Overall season prizes include PEAK FREAK belt buckles for top finishers by division, and competitors who complete six 2027 Cirque Series races receive a 2027 PEAK FREAK belt buckle.
