About the race
Chili Chase takes place on October 17, 2026, in Durango, Colorado, at 1205 Camino Del Rio, 81301. The event combines a trail run with a community chili cookoff and supports The Good Food Collective.
The running portion follows trails through Overend Mountain Park and over Hogsback. The course is approximately 6.5 miles. The event is presented by the Durango Running Club and Backcountry Experience. An approximate course map is available.
Registration for runners opens August 1, 2026 and closes September 1, 2026. The registration fee for runners is $40.00. Chili chefs may enter the cookoff for free; entrants bring their chili for the contest and compete for the Chili Cookoff Champion Belt.
