About the race
The Chichester Harbour Trail Run follows coastal and countryside paths around the Chidham Peninsula in Chichester Harbour, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The route provides long-reaching vistas toward Bosham Hoe, Itchenor, East Head and the South Downs. At low tide the course includes a short foreshore crossing.
Two measured distances are offered:
- 21.3k Half Marathon
- 16.1k route
The courses are predominantly flat with modest elevation gain recorded for each distance (approximately 65 m for 21.3k and 50 m for 16.1k). The route uses quiet trails and harbour-side paths and is waymarked with pink arrows and tape; hazards and road junctions are marked with caution signs.
Event services and inclusions listed for participants include chip timing, on-course refreshments and water stations, first aid cover, course marshals, event photographer, a fully signed route, a high-quality metal finishers' medal, a finisher goodie and a personalised certificate. One dog per runner is permitted for canicross entries; organisers advise bringing poo bags, water, treats and an appropriate lead. The event location is near Chichester in West Sussex, with venue access from Main Road (A259) via Thorney Road at Southbourne. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
